RELEASE: WRI Africa appoints Eric Ruzigamanzi as Country Representative for Rwanda
NAIROBI, KENYA (May 1, 2025) — World Resources Institute, Africa, is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Ruzigamanzi as Country Representative for Rwanda.
In this role, Eric will spearhead strategy development, stakeholder management, and coordination of WRI's initiatives to drive impactful programs for people, climate, and nature. He will continue to lead WRI’s food program in Rwanda, focusing on advancing circular economy solutions and driving sustainable food systems transformations as a key part of the country’s development agenda.

With over 15 years of experience in sustainability, circular Bioeconomy, and food systems transformation in the international development sector, his work has focused on advancing food value chains, integrating circular and sustainable practices, and empowering MSMEs and communities to enhance resilience, improve livelihoods, and address critical food security challenges.
Before joining WRI in January 2022, Eric held leadership roles at SNV (Netherlands Development Organization), Energy4Impact (powered by Mercy Corps), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). He has also worked with governments and multilateral agencies, including UNDP, UNIDO, WFP, and the private sector.
Eric holds a master’s degree in Sustainability and Circular Bioeconomy and is a Certified Carbon Management Leader with a background in Agricultural sciences.
