Eric Ruzigamanzi
Country Representative; Head Food Program, Rwanda

Eric Ruzigamanzi is the Country Representative for the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Rwanda, where he leads strategy development, stakeholder management, and coordination of WRI's initiatives to drive impactful programs for people, climate, and nature. He also leads the Rwanda Food Program, focusing on advancing circular economy solutions and driving sustainable food systems transformations as a key part of the country’s development agenda.
With over 15 years of experience in sustainability, circular bioeconomy, and food systems transformation in the international development sector, Eric has held leadership roles at SNV (Netherlands Development Organization), Energy4Impact (powered by Mercy Corps), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). His work has focused on advancing food value chains, integrating circular and sustainable practices, and empowering MSMEs and communities to enhance resilience, improve livelihoods, and address food security challenges. He has also worked with governments and multilateral agencies, including UNDP, UNIDO, WFP, and the private sector, where he has excelled in strategic program management, policy advisory, resource mobilization, and stakeholder engagement.
Eric holds a master’s degree in Sustainability and Circular Bioeconomy and is a Certified Carbon Management Leader with a background in Agricultural sciences. Outside of work, Eric enjoys following regional political dynamics and spending quality time with his family.
