Bela Wamona
Communications Manager, Congo Basin
Bela Wamona is a communications professional with a strong background in both digital and traditional communications. She has led media engagement, storytelling, and content strategies for international organizations such as RTI International, WWF, and Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, working across Kenya, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Central African Republic.
She is especially passionate about storytelling—whether through social media content, field reports, or documentary production—which remains one of the most fulfilling parts of her work.
Bela holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication with a major in Radio Production from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
Outside her professional life, she is also the founder of The Red Lipstick Academy, a platform where she uses red lipstick as a metaphor to coach and empower Black women through bold, unapologetic messaging around personal growth, confidence, and financial independence. A devoted Christian, Bela is deeply committed to helping Black women rise without shrinking, honoring both faith and ambition.
She enjoys blogging, content creation, and is a passionate wrestling fan.
