Bela Wamona leads communications for WRI’s Congo Basin, guiding media engagement, strategic visibility, and institutional positioning across the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, and the Republic of Congo. 

She brings experience from international organizations including RTI International and the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, contributing to multi-country initiatives across East and Central Africa. Her work focuses on strengthening institutional visibility, cultivating strategic partnerships, and ensuring research and program priorities are clearly positioned for diverse audiences.

Bela holds a bachelor’s degree in social communication from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. She has a strong interest in sustainability and values maintaining a healthy balance between her professional and personal life. In her spare time, she enjoys blogging and she is also a dedicated wrestling fan.
