Interest in forest restoration is rising in response to incentives ranging from new financing to public interest to address growing environmental challenges. On the other hand, new threats to forest restoration are emerging, such as wildfires and the growing demand for food globally.

This session, co-hosted by the Environment Defense Fund, UNCCD/G20 Global Land Initiative and World Resources Institute, will explore the global trends in forest degradation and restoration and emerging technologies available to address the challenges, on the one hand, and to drive forest restoration to scale, on the other hand, despite the setback.
