Beryl Ajwang
Food Loss and Waste Associate, WRI Africa

Beryl is a Food Loss and Waste Associate within the Food Program. In this role, she contributes to WRI’s agenda on Food Loss and Waste reduction and is responsible for building a network of partnerships and engagement with public and private sector actors to generate knowledge, mobilize investments and implement interventions to curb food loss and Waste.
In her previous role as a Research Associate within the Energy Program, she led work on energy for livelihoods. Working with different partners, she supported the implementation of pilot projects on solar irrigation for smallholder farmers in Uganda and Tanzania.
Before joining WRI, Beryl worked as a senior manager at EED Advisory, where she delivered on projects spanning energy access and policy, climate change, renewable energy, and natural resource management. She has also worked at the Forest Dialogue, a US-based organization that uses multi-stakeholder engagement as a channel for environmental conservation. While there, she was involved in reporting for the Land Use Dialogues in Tanzania and in facilitating stakeholder discussions.
Beryl holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University.
