Stakeholder Mobilization in the Congo Basin: Current Realities in Climate Change Responses
This session will bring together policymakers, researchers, practitioners and communities to share solutions and build a shared vision for strengthening the Congo Basin’s resilience and sustainable development.
WRI Africa Pavilion at the Second Africa Climate Summit
The Congo Basin holds immense potential for conservation, sustainable forest management, and climate action, providing benefits to rural communities, national economies, and global ecological services. Stakeholder mobilizations at sub-national, national, regional, and global levels are shaping the Basin’s response to climate change and examining these efforts can clarify the roles and perspectives of diverse actors while identifying opportunities to strengthen collaboration and support for ecosystem protection.
This session will revisit these mobilizations, focusing on sustainable management practices that support the Congo Basin’s economic transition. By bringing together policymakers, practitioners, and community representatives, the session aims to foster dialogue, share innovative solutions, and build a shared vision for enhancing the Basin’s resilience and advancing sustainable development in Africa.
