WRI Africa at the Second Africa Climate Summit
Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS-2), hosted by the Government of Ethiopia in collaboration with the African Union, will unite leaders, policymakers, businesses, youth, and civil society to advance Africa’s climate agenda and sustainable development goals. As a key milestone on the road to COP30, ACS-2 offers a platform to champion African-led climate solutions and secure bold financial and political commitments.
Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS-2), hosted by the Government of Ethiopia in collaboration with the African Union, will unite leaders, policymakers, businesses, youth, and civil society to advance Africa’s climate agenda and sustainable development goals. As a key milestone on the road to COP30, ACS-2 offers a platform to champion African-led climate solutions and secure bold financial and political commitments.
Under the theme “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa’s Resilient and Green Development,” the summit will spotlight areas such as climate finance, renewable energy, nature-based solutions, sustainable food systems, green cities, e-mobility, and indigenous knowledge.
The summit aims to empower youth and indigenous communities, foster fair partnerships, and strengthen multilateral cooperation. Expected outcomes include a unified African position for COP30, innovation showcases featuring African-led solutions, commitments to climate finance, and new partnerships for a just and equitable transition, culminating in the Addis Ababa Declaration on Climate Change.
