Susan is the Director for Communications and Outreach, Africa. She leads all engagement and communication to increase WRI Africa’s visibility and influence on environment and development issues.

She has worked in the international development sector for over 20 years, building a wealth of experience in in communications strategy development and implementation, outreach, media relations, event management and facilitation. Prior to joining WRI, Susan was the Global Communications Coordinator for CIFOR-ICRAF. She also worked with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and SNV Netherlands Development Organization.

Susan holds a master’s degree in communication studies from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyatta University, both in Kenya.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring diverse culinary experiences and tending her garden.

She lives in Nairobi, Kenya, with her husband and two children.
