Reynolds Kihura is the Data & Product Strategist for the WRI Africa Cities Program, where he guides the strategic direction of urban data products and tools that help African cities make more inclusive, evidence-informed decisions. He works closely with the WRI Data Lab and the Urban Data & Tools team at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, and contributes to initiatives including Data for Cool Cities.

Reynolds has more than ten years of experience at the intersection of product, data and innovation across development, financial services, healthcare, education and skills. He has managed complete product development cycles for data products, combining human-centred design, agile delivery and data analytics.

Before joining WRI, he was Senior Consultant, Product & Strategy at Wingspan Consultancy, an East African healthcare consulting firm, where he led research, product development and innovation strategy for insurers and health organisations such as Britam, AAR Insurance, Fidelity Shield, M-TIBA and Pathcare Labs. Earlier, as Senior Product Manager at Skillshub Africa, he led user research and experience design for a skills development platform and a product-innovation accelerator for early-stage startups in East Africa. He previously held programme roles at the Mastercard Foundation and Standard Chartered Bank, contributing to programme innovation for their skills development programmes.

Reynolds holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from Kenyatta University and a Product Manager Certification from Product School, and is pursuing an MSc in Data Science at the University of East London. He is based in Nairobi and speaks English and Swahili. Outside of work, Reynolds is an avid reader who enjoys nature walks, swimming, and exploring new culinary experiences. He is a lifelong learner and a firm believer in the Namibian proverb: "Learning makes a great soul."
