Unlocking Capital at Scale for African Country Platforms
This mandated event at ACS2 will provide a historic opportunity to unlock capital at scale, strengthen country ownership, and embed African leadership in global finance reform.
Mandated Event at the Second Africa Climate Summit
Africa is pioneering a new generation of Country Platforms to align finance and policy with nationally defined climate and development priorities. More than a dozen countries worldwide have launched platforms, with a growing African cohort now designing or implementing them. Country Platforms go b1eyond financial tools—they embody an African-led model of development cooperation, enabling governments to steer their own agendas, convene diverse finance actors, and shape a global financial system that better serves African needs. Given Africa’s youthful population, abundant resources, and urgent adaptation needs, structuring Country Platforms effectively is both timely and critical.
This mandated event at ACS2 will provide a historic opportunity to unlock capital at scale, strengthen country ownership, and embed African leadership in global finance reform. The events will showcase the Africa Chapter of the Country Platform Knowledge Hub, call for global solidarity from MDBs, donors, and private investors, and feed African insights into COP30 and the Baku to Belem Roadmap—ensuring Africa drives the evolution of CPs as a global tool.
