WRI Pavilion at the Second Africa Climate Summit

Africa faces a $20 billion annual funding gap for land restoration, with many local champions trapped in the “missing middle”—too big for microfinance but too small or risky for commercial banks. This session will spotlight how TerraFund for AFR100 is addressing this gap by channeling grants and loans directly to community organizations and enterprises restoring Africa’s landscapes.

The session will spotlight Ethiopian restoration leaders demonstrating how locally led action, blended finance, and robust monitoring systems (via TerraMatch) are transforming climate finance into scalable, investable solutions. The discussion will focus on the policy reforms and financing pathways needed to unlock Africa’s vast restoration potential.
